Anne's Visit...

It wasn't long after my sister, Anne, touched down in North Bay, when we put her to "work off " her vacation. Certainly, this was not what she was expecting. Actually, she had visions of working on the Chain Gang, clearing brush on the driveway... She had been quite impressed with the canopy of leaves and tall grass choking our progress to the Centre...However, we "chained" her to the sewing machine instead. The Curtain Caper continuing, so to speak...

Curtains are cut, hemmed and hung on our copper rods fashioned by Frank.

We did feed her, see...a little bread and water...

We took her on a tour of Little Tomiko, where there was a crimson sign that Fall is in the Air.

A side trip down the river to the Big Beaver Dam

A visit and refreshments with Linda...

No tour of the lake would be complete without a visit to the Fowlers'. Jose was home tending her garden and getting ready for The Ladies from the Empire coming the next day...Pictured below is an arbour of hops. Anne thought her husband, Brian, would be interested in growing hops this way in their yard back in Nova Scotia. Brian is a home brewer and gardener...

The tour was topped off with a drop in to Frasertown where we were spent an hour or two with TT...Thanks for your hospitality, Tina!
All in all the visit was a great success. Next time, Anne, you might get in a swim. Burrrr, it was cold while you were here! See you next year.

Looks like the visit with your sister was a success! So fall is in the air up there as well, huh? The evenings here are now cool and it gets dark so early - Gary says I complain about this every summer! But it seems to come earlier every year. Our August has not been the best weather wise - not so much rain, just not hot and sunny. Oh well, maybe next year . . .
