Earlier this month, we loaded the truck with 3 adults and 2 dogs and headed north to Temagami. The leaves were still in luxurious colour and the sun was shining! Temagami is about an hours drive north of where we live. Temagami is a quaint village and summer resort area. It also boasts this large fire tower pictured below and there is a beautiful walking park and look off surrounding it. The dogs had a great walk, grateful to escape the confines of the truck.

In Temagami, there is an exhibit on the family of Grey Owl's first wife who was very instumental in Grey Owl's transformation into the Native personna as we know him. We had a great tour guide who was very enthusiastic about her subject.

Frank, Linda and I also visited a bookstore that is well know in these parts. (The Highway Book Shop - in Cobalt. www.abebooks.com/home/HIGHWAYBOOKS Check them out. We visited the town of Colbalt proper and walked around a little. Another leg stretcher for the doggies. Cobalt is fairly small in size. I think most of the mining is finished there. Just old deserted mine shafts here and there. The town is not deserted. It is quite cozy. I expect most citizens are retired. Keeping the place alive.

We stopped in Latchford to see the smallest covered bridge in the world. I do believe Frank posted a picture on his Blog. Cute.

All in all it was a great day!
