August Pictures and Such...

North Bay has become THE Destination. This time for a Family Reunion. Barb MacKay Sheffield returned to her home of North Bay with some of her family (below) last weekend. I haven't seen this side of my "family" for many years. It was quite a treat meeting up with everyone again. Dave and Jan now live in Toronto, while Judy lives on the South Shore in Nova Scotia. Karen lives in Dartmouth and her Mother, Barb is happily living in New Minas in the lovely Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia.

Left to Right: Karen Walters, Judy Miller, Dave Miller, Jan Dawson and Barb!

Russell Kelly has met with an unfortunate accident. We won't say how.

Kathleen and Dan Kelly putting the finishing touches to their family vacation plans for a trip to NASCAR heaven, Bristol, Tennessee. They leave today...Have a great time!

This is a Mutant Weed. And not a good picture of it either. But if you can believe it; the thing is at least 7 feet tall. The Mutant Weed can be viewed at the Kelly Kompound until Kathleen gets around to cutting it down...

Kathleen has WHOPPER frogs in her pond. THIS is NOT one of them. He/she is just a cutie though and very photogenic, eh? At least he didn't leap into the water when the camera came into view...

Back in November, 2008, Jane Fraser tried her levell best to get TT and me to make a Rag Quilt. Unfortunately, Jane did not get the most cooperative of Students. Therefore here we are again in August, 2009 still at it. In this picture we are having technical difficulties. Stay tuned for November 2009, I have a sneaky feeling I will still be working on mine. Rumour has it that TT finished hers!

Spending an afternoon with Linda.

Liz, the driveway is sooo overgrown. Where did all last year's hard work disappear to?

First Lily to Bloom. More to come!

Storm Brewing...

Amazing what will grown around the Fire Pit!!!

Sunset! While driving Linda B. and Dave M. home after a delightful Garage Supper at Razor's Lube and Grill I couldn't resist hauling my camera out and taking 20 or so shots.

Calliope and her Grandpa Frank. They went fishing together one afternoon and Calliope caught her first fish!

The Boys. Chillin'

With more rain than sun, our veggie "garden" is not going to produce much. The tomatoe plants are doing the best. No cukes. Just one or two Gerkins. No zukes either. Can u imagine that? I understand that it is almost impossible to not grow zuccinis. So what's with that! I might get a pumpkin or two. The Cosmic Purple Carrots still need underground time before harvesting. Frank might get a spud or two. Potatoes...well, I can always mooch some from Kathleen, 'cause her garden is doing better.

  • Our passports have arrived and so I expect we will get in a trip to Michigan and the Brown Family.
  • The Szymanski's are expected to arrive at the Lake, later this month.
  • Will Jason Organ arrive as anticipated.
  • Happy Mending wishes go out to Russell Kelly and Shirley Campbell. Shirley will NOT becoming to the Centre in September as previously reported as she, too, has ankle with a cast on it. (And one on her wrist.)
  • Activity has begun in preparation to paint the Trim outside the Cabin. And paint inside will start as soon as we get around to it.
  • Must call June. I promised.
See you on Facebook!

Wow! A busy August! Can you believe that summer is pretty much over already? Perhaps we will have an amazing fall - crisp, cool nights, sunny days, and maybe no bugs! Your flowers look great - obviously no bunnies in attendance. Nice pics - expecially the evening ones! You are giving Frank a run for his money in the picture department!
