It is another BEAUTY of a day here at the Centre! The Paddle Boat is calling to me! But the day has gone by quickly...Now, after the Blog it will be time for supper. Maybe after supper...
We've been busy! Several trips to town. The Old Goat is repaired and is parked in its rightful spot in the yard. I had the privilege to drive in over the "road" for the first time this Spring. While we were in town, Frank went looking at Generators. I just had to do that last load of wash! The generator blew "a gasket" - well, not really...I do believe it had something to do with melted brushes. The Frankenator, handy man to have around, figured out the problem and when the part arrives from where ever, the Generator will be as good as new. Well, almost. It IS 13 years old! Longer lived than most!
So we've had our 3 THINGS! First the sinking of Ms. MIB a few weeks ago. The Old Goat's transmission and thirdly, the Generator. So that is IT for troubles...Oh and a thank u goes out to Kathleen K. who noticed the leaking transmission and to Linda B who lent us her truck...Such generous ladies.
Frank has already been out on the water today...Got a call this morning to help a neighbour reinstall an inverter that Fried last summer in an Electrical Storm that got several others on the lake.
Went fishing the other night with the Kelly's - and just like that my fishing rod jumped out of my hands and went straight to the lakes bottom! How embarrassing! My negative IONS at their best. Dan lent me a spare rod and I caught two really tasty Pickeral. Thanks Dan.
Last night, Frank and I were out on the water, testing our luck. Frank caught 3. First was a beautiful Small Mouthed Bass! Note: No Camera! Later into the evening, a small Pickeral bit the worm. Both of these fishes had to go back from where they came. Regulations and all that!
The BUGS eventually made us too miserable and the sun was set, so we did one more troll at the Narrows. Whoa! Frank had something on his line, but it wasn't a fish...Maybe it was a hunk of iron like the last time...no, it was a fishing rod! Not mine, but BETTER! Frank cleaned it up and it is good to go. It's an ABU GARCIA Special.

The gardens are coming along. I've lots of room for more...Kathleen, I found Astillbe No. 8! It was there all along. Now to keep Kita from walking over them!

Tina, I put a lot of that Obedience Plant on the Bank to the lake. It is suffering from abuse and erosion. Hopefully, this invasive and hardy plant will take hold! It is so dry there...

Frank made "like a beaver all day" yesterday! First he made another composter from some pallets we were gifted. Thanks Dan. He built a tent affair over my Cosmic Purple Carrots out back and this lattice for the English Cucumbers planted there. We are going to grow them UP if they make it...

One of our non domesticated pets. Mr. Garter Snake. He is a nice size! And the only one we've seen so far this Spring. There are two or three more who hang out in stumps and under the cabin.

I expect we might get a call from the Kelly's to go fishing tonight but there IS a Hockey Game to watch. Go PITTSBURG!!!

That fishing-rod story was hilarious.
