Ice Fishin' Yesterday

We began to gather after 1 o'clock in the bright blazing sun, just off a point near the NARROWS on the Centre side of Little Tomiko...

Here, Swami (on the right) is spooning out the slush in one of the 7 or so holes he augered...The auger is on the left standing proud. 7 holes without a temper tantrum!

Dan, Kathleen and Moose setting out one of their Tip-Ups...I do believe this was the site of the only fish caught.

All ready to go! Come on Fishies! Tasty minnow attached!
You can see the slush gathering in the hole. One can be going from one hole to another scooping out ice and slush...

The Supervisor...

Steph Kelly with Lady, Tonno and Whiskey

Tina Fraser, Steph, Kathleen and Dan showing how much work goes into ice fishing. (I see the auger in the background still standing proud...) Hot and Dusty work, n'est pas?

This one (Perch) has to go back, Dan. It doesn't count!

Swami, Tina and Kathleen who caught the BIG one! (A Pickeral) She doesn't mind catchin' 'em, but she sure hates touchin' 'em! Can't u tell? Even though this fish is big, it is not big enough for the Kelly Klan, so they gifted it to Swami and this is what is on our menu tonight!

We gave up waiting for more fish by 4:30. We had to give in to the cold, and it was cold! Better fishing days ahead.

Getting a family doctor is a Good Thing. However, it means tests and appointments, appointments and tests, which means "endless" trips to town. I'll be happy when they are completed. Mix in dentist appointments, shopping for a Ski-Do and the never ending household shopping; it seems there is no time to visit, walk the lake with the Supervisor, bird whatching or snow shoeing. Woe is me!

Wednesday, it is back to town to see Marisa, who will remove the gray from my hair and give it a trim. (Too bad she can't do facelifts.)

Louise will be visiting the Kelly Kompound for the next several days so I see a game of Scrabble in my future!

Swami will be busy breaking in the new Ski-Do. No doubt his buddy, Razor will be giving him a hand with that! WhaaaHoooo!

Next week, TT and I are heading to Sudbury for several days. Visiting TTSK and u guessed it! Shopping. According to TT there is a Cost Co in Sudbury and some Resource/Recycling stores, if you know what I mean. (They aren't Frenchy's, Margaret but what can u do? Sigh...)

Gotta run. 4:20. Getting close to supper time. Swami will be home soon. (Checking out the Frasers' computer problem)...

4:20 eh? Does that mean the same thing on the Lake as it does in society?

Busy, busy, busy life! Wow! Glad to see you are setting some priorities like getting rid of the grey - one of my priorities too! We had some guys here last weekend ice fishing just up the road. Gary, his Dad and I did the ice fishing thing once many, many years ago. I hate the cold so once was enough!
